On November 18th, the 10th meeting of Singapore-Guangdong Collaboration Council was held in Guangzhou. Prior to the meeting, Li Xi, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Ma Xingrui, Governor of the Guangdong Province and Co-chair of the Collaboration Council, met with Ong Ye Kung, Minister of Education (Singapore) and Co-chair of the Collaboration Council. During the meeting chaired by Governor Ma Xingrui and Minister Ong Ye Kung, both sides discussed topics such as developmental advantages of the Greater Bay Area and future for smart cities Governor Ma and Minister Ong signed the Singapore-Guangdong Collaboration Council Deepen Collaboration Memorandum and witnessed the signing of 20 cooperation agreements between China and Singapore.
The 7th Sino-Singapore Knowledge Forum was held in the afternoon, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province Zhang Hu and Minister of Education (Singapore) Ong Ye Kung attended and addressed the opening ceremony. Step Up on the Drive of GBA Development & Explore New Opportunities for China-Singapore Cooperation was the theme of the forum, think-tank experts and enterprise representatives from both countries focused on the most heated topics and carried out discussions on future cooperation and development of China and Singapore. This event attracted near 250 guests to attend.
The day before the Knowledge Forum, a delegation of government officials and enterprise representatives visited leading enterprises located in the Knowledge City, SSIJRI was introduced to the delegation as a good demonstration of technological collaboration between the two nations. SSIJRI’s achievements in scientific research and technology transfer were well-received by the visiting guests, and they have expressed interests in strengthening collaborative innovation between SSIJRI and Singapore enterprises, as well as fulfilling the common goal of introducing advanced technologies to the Chinese market.
